Bechtold Nef des Folles Pinot Gris

The Domaine Bechtold “Nef des Folles” Pinot Gris is a unique, skin-contact (orange) wine from the Alsace region of France, known for its vivid color and complex flavor profile. 100% Pinot Gris from Dahlenheim, Alsace, France, from the Obere Hund vineyard. Farmed using Organic and biodynamic processes (Demeter certified as of 2017) where grapes are macerated on their skins for twelve days, giving the wine a distinct coppery/light red hue. It is aged in a single old foudre (large wooden vat) and has no added sulfur.

The wine is described as vivid, bold yet gentle, and firmly textured with aromas of rose petal, dried orange peel, ripe apricot, and a hint of wet limestone. Flavors include lush peach, honeyed pear, honeycomb, chamomile tea, ginger, and a saline spice on the finish, with vibrant acidity and a gentle tannic grip.
