Description
The Patrick Bottex “La Cueille” Bugey-Cerdon Sparkling Wine is a charming, off-dry sparkling rosé from the Bugey region of France, made primarily from Gamay and Poulsard grapes using the méthode ancestrale. It is known for its light body, low alcohol content (around 8% ABV), and vibrant berry flavors.
- Production Method: Made using the méthode ancestrale (pétillant naturel), where the wine is bottled halfway through its natural fermentation without added yeast or a secondary dosage. This process results in a light, natural effervescence and a touch of residual sweetness.
- Aroma & Palate: The wine offers a seductive and fragrant nose of alpine strawberries, raspberries, rose petals, and red apple. The palate is off-dry and light-bodied, featuring bright red fruit flavors (cranberry, lingonberry), crisp acidity, and mineral undertones.
- Pairings: Highly versatile, it pairs well with a variety of foods, including fried appetizers, Thanksgiving dinner, strawberry shortcake, cookies, and soft, ripe cheeses.
