Barboursville Virginia Reserve Viognier 2023

The Barboursville Virginia Reserve Viognier is a dry, full-bodied white wine. It is known for its aromatic profile of fruits and flowers, notes of juicy and bright pear, passion fruit, nectarine, white peach, hints of citrus (orange peel, lime zest, white grapefruit), and floral elements like white blossoms and jasmine. It has a medium to full body, a round and slightly viscous mouthfeel, with medium-plus, zippy acidity. The finish is dry and lingering with a touch of white pepper and minerality. The wine is produced without oak aging, utilizing extravagant lees contact and exclusion of oxygen in stainless steel to protect and concentrate its aromatics and flavors. It pairs well with a variety of dishes including pan-fried blue crab cakes, sea scallop gratin, linguini with scallops and clams, poultry, and Asian cuisine.
