The Arnot-Roberts Sonoma Coast Syrah is a distinctive, cool-climate Syrah known for its vibrant fruit and savory, peppery notes. Winemakers Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts focus on organic and sustainable practices, using grapes from high-quality Sonoma Coast vineyard sites. The wine exhibits brambly red and dark berries, cracked black pepper, savory herb notes, purple flowers, and a hint of smoke. Some vintages can also show notes of black olives, new leather, and lavender. It is medium-bodied with an effortless texture and nuances of spice. Its characteristic high acidity and grippy tannins make it a cellar-worthy wine that is also enjoyable in its youth. The grapes are fermented with 100% whole clusters using native yeasts. The wine is then aged in neutral French oak barrels. Pairs well with grilled and roasted meats, game, charcuterie, and harder, smellier cheeses or those crusted with pepper or herbs.
